Working Class Cat is a selection of hand-drawn comic strips and caricatures.
These works are inspired by the original character, the working class cat, and photographs of Pontus Pilates Kjellgren, a cat with quite the reputation in the Kjellgren family’s social circle.
The drawings explore stigma, thoughts, struggles and joy that work brings, through 2 key feline characters - a sooty, grumpy-looking working class cat, and the very well-loved, legendary Pontus, whose stories are still being told by humans who have had the privilege of meeting him.
The small-print zine premieres at Kulturhuset Leoparden’s art market on 9 May 2026 in Uppsala, Sweden, with 50 serialized copies available, alongside prints and stickers.
